Since 2005, the output value of China's hot rolled coil has been flat down. In 2005-2007, the output value increased substantially, ranging from 32.4% to 36.1%; in 2008-2010, it fell to 13.1% to 19.4%, but still maintained a relatively rapid increase; in 2011-2012, it further fell to 4.6-6.7%, and increased slightly in 2013. In 2013, the output value of hot rolled coil sheet in China was 182.77 million tons, an increase of 251.9% compared with 2005, and the annual composite increase rate reached 17%.
According to the output value of each province, Hebei, Liaoning and Jiangsu have the largest output value of hot rolled coil. In 2013, the output value of hot rolled coil was 57.285 million tons, 21.957 million tons and 17.527 million tons, accounting for 31.4%, 12% and 9.5% of the domestic output value of hot rolled coil respectively. The provincial and municipal output value of the top 10 hot rolled coil sheets in China in 2013 was 147.535 million tons, accounting for 80.7% of the total output value of hot rolled coil sheets.
From the point of view of capacity concentration, the capacity concentration of hot rolled coil sheet is obviously higher than that of thread steel and wire rod. However, from 2009 to 2013, the proportion of the top 10 hot rolled coil sheet (product) mills in China's total domestic output value is declining. The output value of the first 10 steel enterprises in 2013 was 95.378 million tons, accounting for 52.2% of the domestic output value, down 4 percentage points from 2009.
