There is a contradiction between continuous production and periodic demand in the production and marketing of all kinds of steel plates, but the construction steel mainly composed of thread steel and wire rod is more obvious. Construction of construction sites in Northeast, Northwest and parts of North China is suspended every winter, and local demand for practice is greatly reduced or even blocked, but steel production continues. In the case of a sharp drop in local demand for practice, steel mills generally adopt two methods to digest output value: first, winter storage, including steel mills and local steel traders hoarding stocks, to the market peak season to sell at high prices, to earn a price difference, but in recent two years with the rapid increase in the production capacity of screw and wire rod, winter storage of steel is difficult to have a better return. The enthusiasm of steel trade and winter storage has been weakened; the second is that the North timber goes south, mainly to shopping malls such as East China and South China. Whether it is stored in winter or in the south, steel mills generally give up certain profit margins to digest output value.
The East China region is the largest area of steel plate production and consumption in China. According to the data of the National Bureau of Statistics, the output value of China's rebar steel in 2013 was 206,190,000 tons. During this period, the output value of Eastern China's rebar steel was 7.057 million tons, accounting for 36.4% of China's domestic output value. In North China and Central-South China, the output value of rebar steel accounted for 18.7% and 19.6% respectively. Although the output value of the western region accounted for a small share of the domestic steel, but the proportion gradually increased. In 2013, the southwest and northwest regions accounted for 11.7% and 6.6% of the domestic steel output value, respectively, 2.8% and 0.6% more than in 2005.

According to the statistics of the China Steel Association, the output value of the key enterprises from January to November 2013 was 12.436 million tons, which flowed to the East China region of 42.998 million tons, accounting for 34.6% of the President's measurement. Considering the distribution area of the output value, East China is not only the largest production area of the screw steel in China, but also the largest consumption area in China. The production and sales in the region are basically balanced. 18.909 million tons, 15.2% of the president's measurements, were flowing to North China, below the 18.7% share of the 2013 output value. It was a net outflow area of rebar. The flow of 24.776 million tons to the central and southern regions, accounting for 19.4% of the President's measurement, is fundamentally equal to the share of output value, and the supply and demand of screw steel in the central and southern regions are basically balanced.
